Finding Diguo (Ficus tikoua var.) as a child was an amazing thing, and it still is as an adult! In a childhood with few snacks, Diguo (Ficus tikoua var.) was considered a precious wild fruit treat. Coming home from school and searching for Diguo was something that, even now, brings me so much happiness when I think about it. The flesh was very fragrant and sweet, without any noticeable sourness. The skin, as thin as a cicada’s wing, was almost unnoticeable, so every bite was filled with sweet fruit. Nowadays, children hardly recognize this wild fruit, and no one goes into the mountains to search for it anymore. I went and gathered a full basket in no time, then made some delicious food.
